Presently Koppal is the district headquarter and has a location in the middle of Hydrabad-Karnataka region. It has certain unique features, geographically, historically, culturally and economically but, still it is under-developed. Samstan Shri Gavimath is situated on a rocky hill to the East of Koppal. Shri Gavimath has glorious history of more than a thousand years and has been upholding the values that are of eternal bliss to the humanity.

Sri Gavisiddheshwar Vidhya Vardhaka Trust, Koppal is named after His Holiness Sri Gavisiddeshwar mahaswamiji came into being since 1963, has been dedicated itself for providing excellent educational facilities. It has been indeed accepted and identified by the people as Social body’ to help educationally, socially and spiritually as well.

H.H Sri Marishantaveer Mahaswamiji, the 16th Peethadhipati was a great scholar, educationist and social reformer. He founded Sri Gavisiddeshwar Vidya Vardhak Trust to cater to the varied educational needs of the area and donated all the landed property of Sri Gavimath to the Trust for sustenance and growth of educational institutions in Koppal.

H.H Sri Shivashantaveera Mahaswamiji, the 17th Peethadhipati added the luster to the glitter and glory of Sri Gavimath. He has been a scholar in Sanskrit and Ayurveda. He established Ayurvedic college and Hospital to cater the needs of rural poor people.

The Present Peethadhipati H.H Sri Gavisiddeshwar Mahaswamiji is a scholar, orator, thinker, educationist and social reformer and ardent follower of his Guruji. Realizing the needs of the society he has undertaken many pro-people projects like creating social awareness, aforestation, water conservation (Jaladeeksha), prevention of child marriage, padayatras and many more. The glory of Sri Gavimath is increasing year by year. He has established and dedicated to the society a well equipped dashoha bhawan, old age house, sangeeta patha shala. He is an exemplary for Gurubhakthi and Karyashakti.

Today, it is running number of educational institutions ranging from KG to PG including Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital.

Shri Gavisiddheshwara Arts, Science & Commerce Pre-University College, is one of the prestigious Colleges in Kalyan-Karnataka region, functioning since 1963 successfully. The college, today offering Pre-University courses in Arts, Science, Education and Commerce Courses.
